Rose is een Nederlands-Amerikaanse kunstenaar, geboren in Rotterdam, die exposeerde in Nederland, Ierland en de VS. In 2004 keerde ze vanuit de VS terug naar Europa, reisde en schilderde in Italie?, Frankrijk en Nederland. Hier concentreerde ze zich op landschapskunst. In 2014 ontving ze een levenslange beurs van de Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ierland, waar het oceanische landschap blijft inspireren en haar observatie, expressie en abstractie van schoonheid en het sublieme bei?nvloedt.
 

As a Dutch-American artist, born in Rotterdam, Rose has exhibited her work in the Netherlands, Ireland, and the U.S. In 2004, she returned to Europe, traveling and painting in Italy, France, and the Netherlands, focusing on plein-air landscape art. In 2014,she received a lifelong fellowship from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ireland, where the oceanic landscape continues to inspire, influencing her observation, expression, and abstraction of beauty and the sublime.

De natuur inspireert mij. Als ik buiten schilder, neem ik alle visuele en zintuiglijke prikkels in me op, net zoals een surfer die wordt overspoeld door de energetische overdracht van een golf.
 

Schilderen op locatie kan onvoorspelbaar zijn, maar als het lukt, vangt een stuk alle frisheid van het moment op, terwijl het toch mijn volledige visie behoudt. Ik streef naar werk dat zowel scherpe observatie als gedurfde abstractie laat zien.
 

Uiteindelijk stelt het werken in de open lucht mij in staat de ontzagwekkende realiteit van onze wereld volledig te ervaren en vast te leggen door de materialiteit van de verf.

Nature inspires me. When I paint outdoors, I take in all its visual and sensory stimuli, much like a surfer immersed in the energetic transference of a wave.
 

Painting on location can be unpredictable, but when successful, a piece captures all the freshness of the moment while still retaining my complete vision. I strive to create work that demonstrates both keen observation and bold abstraction.
 

Ultimately, working outside in the open air allows me to fully experience the awe-in- spiring reality of our world and record it through the materiality of the paint.
